Hello all,
Here is the most current update for the HHS Alumni Baseball Game that will be held on the 10th and 11th of June. Friday night, weather permitting, we will get together @ HHS Baseball Field around 5:30 or 6:00 to take some fungo and take some live cuts so that we can be ready for the games on Saturday. Saturday we will have everyone show up @ 8:30 AM for registration. Registration fees will be $15 per person. That will include a shirt and a hat similar to last year. We will be selling tickets to get into the game for those who would like to attend. Ticket costs for each individual are not yet identified. Keep in mind that this is a fund raiser so if there is anyone that would like to donate more than the ticket costs then you are more than welcome to do so. I will get the shirts ordered this week so that we can make sure to have those here for the game. I need your help in sending me information for those of you that can make it. I would like to get a headcount a few weeks early because last year we ordered too many shirts and hats. I would like to find a way of drumming up some advertising so that we can help raise money as well. Let me know if any of you have any ideas.

Recap of Games from the HHS 1st Annual Alumni Baseball Game
I just wanted to tell everyone THANK YOU for coming out to the 1st Annual Hillcrest High School Alumni Baseball game. We had an awesome turnout with 26 former baseball players. We decided to divide up into 2 teams and play a best of 3 tournament. Needless to say, the young bucks (Mostly class of 2004) still have game. It is a good thing they also had help from Jeff Hendricks (the only player to drop a bomb) and the quality defense of the washed up old timers. We appreciated all of you coming out to the game. Just so that we can let everyone else who wasn't there know, the teams consisted of (Hope I don't forget anyone):
HHS Red Team
1. Dan Clements
2. Tyler Harris (Playing with the old boyz)
3. Jono Tyler
4. Ryan Harris
5. Dru Charles
6. Matt Thomas
7. Jade Chase
8. Nate Meikle
9. Curtis Jaussi
10. Jory Chase (Dusting of the cleats again)
11. Brandon Jackson
12. Nathan Johns
13. Keith Wilson
14. Carson Beattie
15. TJ Floyd
HHS White Team:
1. Tyler Pond
2. Greg Pond
3. Travis (Bagger) Vance
4. Tyler Roe
5. Josh Cooper
6. Brian Jorgensen
7. Jeff Hendricks
8. Scott Fuller
9. Tory Walker
10. Russell Phillips
11. Brad Roisum
Game 1 final score: HHS White Team 7 HHS Red Team 5 (I think)
Game 2 final score: HHS White Team 17 HHS Red Team 4.
I guess there is quite a bit to say about the young bucks and being away from the game we all love. They can still swing it...
What an awesome day it was where there were stories, memories, and smiles to be had by everyone, and to top it all off the weather turned out to be great. Hopefully it was worth the time and effort you all spent to get there and be a part of the joy.
Thanks to all those who helped with everything including the younger players and boosters who helped with concessions. Thanks for all your support with the Hillcrest High School Baseball Program . I believe we were able to raise a little money for the program which will hopefully help in some why to benefit those who are in and are to come through the baseball program.
Also a special thanks to Coach Scott Barr, Coach Brandon Jackson, Coach Jerry Walker and other coaches for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of a baseball tradition that has left a lasting impression, taught us life lessons, and created memories that will be with us forever.
For all you young bucks... Payback is next year... For all you old timers, start practicing now cause next year we need revenge, and for all the rest of you that weren't able to make it this year - you were missed, and we count on you being there next year for the 2nd Annual HHS Alumni Baseball game. Game will probably be the first weekend in June again. Hopefully we can make that a tradition. Clear your schedule, get your throwing arms in shape and be prepared for the great times to come on an annual basis. And tell everyone that was not there this year about the fun times we had so they can join us next year for another great time.
In addition, It was my pleasure putting it together this year, but next year I could use some help so that we can make it more fun for everyone that will attend to watch the games. For those of you that would be willing to help please send me your email and I will make sure to get in touch with you in time for next year. Thank you in advance.
P.S. If any of you have pictures, send them to me and I can post them on this blog. Also feel free to post whatever you want. We would all love to hear from you. Here is my e-mail: ershrussia@hotmail.com

Update for First Annual HHS Baseball Alumni Game
Hello all,
In talking with Coach Barr again we have determined that we will be holding the Alumni the first weekend in June. If any of you want to play will you please send me an e-mail so that I can get the details to you regarding exactly what we are going to do and how it will work. I am anticipating that we will be putting together t-shirts or jerseys with numbers. I would also like to put together some sort of program that we can hand out with a write-up of what former alumni are doing right now.
Also, if any of you have connections to be able to get donations from local companies for the raffle and drawing please let me know. I know we have many individuals here that own or work for companies that would be willing to donate something for the drawing. Remember, a ticket entry will count as a raffle as well. If any of you would be willing to help put this together I could use the help with coordination, etc. Please let me know. Thanks for all your help.

E-mail addresses
Hello all. Anyone that is interested in playing in the Alumni game please send me your e-mail asap so i can put you on the rosters. Also please forward this information to anyone you think might be interested.
First Annual Hillcrest High School Alumni Baseball Game
Hello to all of you former Hillcrest High School Baseball Alumni. Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to watch Hillcrest High School Baseball at their new facility located on the Hillcrest High School Campus. It brings back many great memories with friends and teammates of hours of endless practice and dedication to the cause of the game.
In lieu of the many memories, lessons, and good ole' days, and in talking with former Hillcrest teammates I though that it might be a fun idea to see if any of you are interested in playing the game that we all love again. With that in mind I have talked with Coach Barr and asked if he would be interested in supporting a Hillcrest High School Alumni Baseball Game. He thought that it would be a great idea. I also thought that with some time and effort it could be a really enjoyable time where we could all get together again and spend time on the field with old friends.
In doing so we would also be able to put together a fund raiser for the Baseball Program. This money will go directly to continuing to improve the baseball field. I know that there are many things that Coach Barr still wants to accomplish with the field (i.e. finish the pressbox, lights, etc...). I figured that this would be a great way to enjoy a few days at the park while giving back to a program that has taught us so many life lessons.
With that in mind, I have put together a preliminary schedule as to what I would love to see and am looking for feedback from you all as to ideas that we could implement to make it a memorable and enjoyable time for everyone.
Having played in the Legends game (American Legion Game) I recognize that we would all like a little more time on the field. Here is what I am proposing. (3) 7 inning games. The first game starting at 10:00 AM, second at 1:00 PM and the Championship game at 4:00 PM. Winners of the first and second game would square up for the 4:00 PM game. This would be on a Saturday probably sometime in April/May. The previous day (Friday) we would put together a Home Run Derby (HRD) in the afternoon for all of you BOMBERS. We would do free admissions for the HRD. Saturday's game would be an entrance fee of maybe 3-5 dollars per person or like 15-20 for the family (yet to be determined).
I am planning on talking to quite a few businesses in town to see if we could get some donations for a "raffle". However this would work a little differently, the ticket purchase would be the raffle so that everyone has a chance to win. Additional tickets could also be purchased for the raffels and give aways. Again, all of the money will be donated to the Baseball Program and the field.
These were just a few ideas that I thought would make it a memorable event. I am completely open for suggestions and recommendations. If any of you have any fund raising experience, please call me so that I can talk with you about the logistics.
There are still a few questions that I would like to recieve feedback on, so please give me your input.
Would those involved be willing to purchase t-shirts for cost as uniforms?
Is there anyone that would be willing to help out with concessions?
What would you suggest as ticket prices?
Are there any other ideas that you have?
Thanks to you all for all of your support in spreading the word. Please tell everyone you know about this so that we can make sure that anyone that is interested knows about it.
